At SoCal Carpentry, every custom project begins with a clear and collaborative process to bring your vision to life. To get started, we ask that you provide the following:

Project Description:
A brief overview of your project via text—the fastest way to connect with us. Sharing your ideas helps us understand your vision and project scope. -
Inspiration and Concept Photos:
Any inspiration images, sketches, or design ideas that showcase your style and preferences. The more details you provide, the better we can tailor your custom piece. -
Rough Space Measurements:
Basic measurements of the space where your project will be installed. This helps us create a custom design that fits perfectly into your home. -
Current Space Photos:
Clear images of the existing space allow us to evaluate the layout, style, and functionality to ensure a seamless design.
Once we have all of the information we need, we will schedule a video or phone consultation to discuss your project in greater detail. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and help us understand what you are looking for on a deeper level.
After reviewing the information gathered, we will provide a ballpark estimate on the price based off the scope of work. If this is within your budget and you approve the estimate, we can move forward to the next step.
To officially begin our design process, we require a design deposit. This secures you a place in our schedule and allows us to begin designing your custom project.

Sure, you could go out to Ikea, Home Depot, Lowes or another big-box retailer and purchase components similar to what SoCal Carpentry builds. You can put it together in a weekend or have a handyman help with your project, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But that is not what we do. Our process, designs, and most importantly build quality sets SoCal Carpentry apart from these big box retailers and handymen, this is also reflected in our pricing.

After our initial consultation, we move into the conceptualization and design phase. During this phase, we use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software specifically built to allow us to “build” your project on the computer. This ensures that measurements, finishes, and the overall layout of your project are perfect for the build phase.
Once we complete the renderings of your project, we will have a detailed and accurate list of materials needed to finish the job. This allows us to provide you with the most precise estimate and ensures the project stays on the agreed-upon timeline.

Once the computer renderings of the project have been completed and approved by the customer, we move into the building phase.

Stained wood requires flawless joints and precision craftsmanship, making it one of the most detailed and high-end services we offer. Because of the significant differences between projects, it’s not possible to provide a ballpark figure.
